TruMarine® Collagen is ultra-pure and due to its source (fish scales), it does not contain any contaminants, oils, or impurities.
Bovine, porcine and avian sourced collagen products come from the skin and bones of the animals. These sources often absorb contaminants and pollutants from the animals' environment and food supply, which in turn affect the collagen product produced from them. These impurities in bovine/porcine/avian collagen products often cause an unpleasant odour and/or taste, which is why many of these products are flavoured or in capsule/pill form.

withinUs TruMarine® Collagen is a Type I collagen, which is the most abundant form of collagen in our body. Type I collagen is found in the skin, tendons, blood vessels, ligaments, organs, and cornea of the eye, and forms 50% of the protein matrix of bone. Unlike Type II or III collagen, withinUs TruMarine® does not use animal sources such as beef, pork or chicken in the production of its collagen. Studies show that TruMarine® has superior bio-availability when compared with other collagen sources. Its low molecular weight allows it to be absorbed into the bloodstream at higher levels, which leads to collagen synthesis in joint tissues, bones, and skin.
