We have received many questions regarding the benefits, difference, and quality of our Premium-Select Grade, withinUs™ TruMarine®Collagen, and questions about the best way(s) to incorporate our other products. We decided to compile a list of the 5 most frequently asked questions from our customers.

1. Where is withinUs™ TruMarine® Collagen sourced from?

Our 100% ultra-pure collagen (premium select grade TruMarine® Collagen) is sourced from ethically and sustainably-caught wild fish scales (never skin) in the deep, pristine waters of the South Pacific Ocean - north of Australia and approximately 5,000 km from the coast of Japan. The ocean currents of the Southern Hemisphere are separated by the Equatorial Counter Current and are completely different from those of the North Pacific. The Kuroshio Current of Japan flows north towards North America (not south) and therefore does not impact our product.
withinUs™ TruMarine® Collagen is Ultra-Pure and free of any other ingredients, preservatives or stabilizers. Our marine collagen is also produced with no heat, acids or harsh chemicals and is regulated and routinely tested for impurities and heavy metals.

2. Can I take withinUs™ TruMarine® Collagen while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Since we are not aware of each customer's overall health and pregnancy, we always advise that if they have concerns to consult their health care provider. What we can tell you is that our product is the highest grade of marine collagen available (not all marine collagen is created equal) and is 100% Ultra-Pure, Health Canada approved, and stringently tested for impurities and metals, including lead and mercury. We use absolutely no preservatives or additives.

We have many customers that have chosen to continue with our product throughout their pregnancy and breastfeeding. We recommend reading two informative blogs on our website written by Registered Dietitian, Kim McDevitt.  Kim explains her decision to continue taking TruMarine® during her pregnancy  and how it helped her postpartum.

3. How much collagen is in each serving of Matcha Misto + Collagen?

Each serving (1 scoop) of withinUs™ Matcha Misto + Collagen contains 2.5 grams of withinUs TruMarine™ Collagen. Some of our customers like their drink extra creamy and add 2 scoops of Matcha Misto to their mug, this provides them the full daily recommended serving of our withinUs™ TruMarine® Collagen.

*Note:  Third party testing and clinical trials show that wild-caught, fish SCALE marine collagen has superior bioavailability (absorption) than any other sources of collagen. Other brands will recommend 10-20g daily (lower quality source), and our recommended serving size is 5g.

4. Is there any added sugar or sweetener in withinUs Coconut Creamer + Collagen?

We do NOT add sweetener or sugar to our newest product - Coconut Creamer + Collagen (we also do not add sugar or sweetener to our Matcha Misto). This product contains simply 2 premium ingredients: certified organic (and ethically-sourced) coconut milk, and withinUs™ TruMarine® Collagen

As withinUs, our goal is to provide premium products for our customers. We choose not to include any additives or unnecessary ingredients to our products to preserve the quality and purity of the finished product.

5. What can I add Coconut Creamer + Collagen to?

Our new product Coconut Creamer + Collagen is a perfect addition to hot beverages such as coffee or tea, it is also a great smoothie booster.

The withinUs Team has been testing some recipes that include our Coconut Creamer. Please check out the recipe for our Collagen Powered Coconut Latte here.

    Hello Withinus team,
I can’t say enough about the coconut 🥥 creamer +collagen! I use it every morning in my coffee! I am about to place another order! Can’t wait to try other products in your line up.
    Thank you!

    Hi @Alia

It typically takes 4-8 weeks to recognize benefits. If your body is very low in collagen, it can take longer to notice the benefits as it is building up the levels from within.
As our product is a natural we do not expect that it would conflict with any other supplements such as miltivitamin, glucosamine, or calcium. If you are concerned about any of these, we recommend speaking with your health care provider.
    Thank you!

Hi. How long it takes to see the results? Can it be taken with any other Vitmin supplements like calcium, glucosamine or multivitamin? Thanks

  • teamwithinus

    Hi @Leslie,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

An excessive intake of protein can accelerate liver and kidney damage. Because collagen is a protein (95% protein, 5% moisture), individuals that have been instructed to follow a low protein diet or have health issues regarding their liver or kidneys are cautioned to consult with their healthcare practitioner prior to use. Collagen is not problematic for the average, healthy individual that has no previous or existing conditions of liver or kidney disease.

If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact us!

I have used the collagen and liked it. ( especially for my nails) however I have read that it may impact kidneys. Is there anything I should be aware of regarding kidney health and collagen?
