POSITION: PURCHASING & LOGISTICS MANAGER
TYPE: FULL TIME 

LOCATION: VANCOUVER, B.C.

The Purchasing & Logistics Manager is responsible for the management of withinUs product scope, controlling inventory, costing, ensuring the timely delivery of our premium-grade health and wellness products to our stores and clients. THE OPPORTUNITY 

  • Support in planning, continuous improvement, cost containment/avoidance, reporting and analysis of the flow of goods and related information between the point of origin and the point of consumption to meet requirements
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with key transportation providers and third- party facilities to ensure the most cost-effective movement of materials while providing excellent customer service, in compliance with the Responsible Distribution initiatives
  • Cross-functional planning required for transportation and shipping of outbound and inbound goods
  • Provide end-to-end visibility and insight into the transportation and shipping of outbound goods
  • Regularly analyze logistics and supply chain trends to identify opportunities to lower costs and improve competitiveness and the customer experience
  • Build and manage carrier relationships to maximize their services and commitments
  • Plan, organize and monitor the receiving, outgoing, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or co-manufacturers, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation to ensure our products are distributed on time to our retailers in an effective and efficient
  • Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in an effective and efficient manner
  • Ensure updated or new policies, procedures and protocols are properly communicated and implemented
  • Plan and coordinates work schedule for logistics team, trains and motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of logistics and fulfillment associates. Develops team leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines
  • Monitors the unloading of all materials into the receiving department; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensures receiving reports accurately report material received
  • Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports. Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry
  • Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner

THE EXPERIENCE & QUALITIES YOU BRING

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the packaging, or logistics and supply industry
  • Proven experience managing supplier relationships
  • Experience with Shopify, SPS, EDI
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and procedures
  • Extremely detail oriented and analytical thinker
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Able to interface with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow and give directions both written and verbal
  • Physically able to perform all aspects of the job, sitting for extended periods in front of a computer, bending, reaching, walking, lifting up to 50lbs
  • Technical Capacity: developing processes to streamline current methods
  • Ethical Conduct
  • Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse
  • Monitors and measures receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy of locator, receiving reporting, movement and storage of material, and transfers to service parts
  • Understanding of Inflow an asset
  • Knowledge of Natural Health Products an asset
