Breakfast - it’s the meal that many studies have proven to be the most important of the day. But sleep is precious, and after hitting that snooze button numerous times, sacrifices must be made to your morning routine. When this happens, more often than not, breakfast is rushed or skipped altogether.

But what if amongst all the morning chaos, you were able to have a nutrient dense breakfast that would fuel you for the day?

Take notes, it’s overnight oats.

The best thing about overnight oats is that all the hard work is done while you sleep! Preparing your oats is a simple process which requires minimal ingredients. Before heading to bed, soak the oats in an organic dairy or nondairy milk of your choice, and choose some of your favourite additional boosters to add in. After you combine all the ingredients together, place it in the fridge and forget about until the morning. While the concoction sits in the fridge overnight, the liquid softens the oats, resulting in a ‘no-cooking-required’ method for a nutritious and delicious breakfast.

Why Oats?

Oats have an impressive nutritional profile.

When selecting oats, we always recommend choosing organic, so your body will get the full nutritional benefit. When possible, try using old fashioned oats instead of 'quick oats'. Old fashioned oats are less processed and provide more nutrients than the alternative.

One cup of organic oats contains 6g of protein and 4g of fibre - both of which are necessary to optimum health on a daily basis. In addition to protein and fibre, you will acquire nearly 70% of the daily recommended dose of manganese, which is a mineral that assists in bone formation. Oats also help support healthy digestion and lower cholesterol - all the more reason to incorporate them into your morning routine.

One of our favourite things about oats is that they fill you up! Thanks to their high fibre content, they are digested gradually and absorbed slowly into the body, keeping you feeling full for longer.

By adding 5g of TruMarine™ Collagen to your overnight oats, you are increasing the amount of protein, as TruMarine™ is 95% protein. This will give you an extra boost to help power you for the day, all while encouraging the production of collagen in your body for healthy hair, skin, nails, joints, and bones.
